Whowhatwear Day 30: Leave the details to your shoes

These shoes have certainly earned their cost per wear value. I've probably had them over ten years, and I think they were around £10 from Primark. They've been re - heeled at least once and they're obviously not leather, but I love the colour and style. The heel is just the right height to be able to wear all day and they go with a surprising number of outfits. Sadly this was their last outing as they split at the sole and had to be binned. I went for a bit
of a 70s vibe matching these shoes with suede and button -through denim.

Whowhatwear Day 29: Incorporate an office-appropriate blouse into your look

Today's challenge description was actually "Incorporate an office-appropriate blouse into your weekend look", but since I'm only doing this challenge on week days, and my office is casual, I thought I'd leave out the weekend part! I'm really happy with this look. As I've mentioned before, I often struggle with proprtions and high waisted items, but this shirt and skirt seem to go together really well. Add some flats and a slick of red lipstick and I'm bringing some smartness to office Thursdays.

Whowhatwear Day 28: Give a feminine dress some edge with a moto jacket

When did biker jackets start being called moto jackets? This jacket is one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. It's actually a replacement for the same jacket I lost on a night out once. This one is sadly a little more worn but it does the job. This dress actually has a beautiful purple lace back that you can't see here. I'm sure I'll wear it again when the weather gets a little warmer and I'll add a pic then, it's so pretty!

Whowhatwear Day 27: Try a sleek and slouchy look

I think it's quite easy to look a bit drowned in a slouchy style, particularly when, like me, you're not blessed with great height. But by wearing these floor length wide leg suit trousers with heels, tucking in a silk vest and adding a fitted jacket it's possible to do sleek without being swamped.

Whowhatwear Day 26: Wear a bold coat with simple essentials

I don't have a bold coat! Aaah. I honestly do not own a bold coat. All my coats are quite muted and neutral. I have no prints, no bright colours, no quirky tailoring. I really want a bold coat! But in the mean time I opted for a bold waterfall cardigan in an effort to rise to the challenge. Sticking with my faithful black separates, it's almost as good as a coat.

Whowhatwear Day 25: Dress up a pair of distressed jeans

These jeans used to belong to a friend of mine,  where they had one or 2 tiny distressed patches. Over the years they became more and more ripped to the point that I actually couldn't wear them. They were sat, abandoned, at the back of my closet for ages until I finally sat down with a needle and thread and sewed up the worst of the rips. The patch on my left thigh was unsalvageable so I patched it with tartan cotton for a punk vibe. I've dressed it up with black and white stripes, a black velvet blazer and black and white leopard patterned flats.

Whowhatwear Day 24: Layer in an unexpected way

I decided to play with proportions for this challenge, and I actually really like how it turned out. I've paired short shorts with tights and boots, then I've layered a light cropped sleeve smart jacket over a bug chunky roll neck sweater.

Whowhatwear Day 23: Wear a colour you haven't worn in a while

I wear a lot of purple, but I haven't worn it in a while so today's look is very much purple! It's one of my favourite colours so easy to find pieces that go together. If I ever get around to sorting out my wardrobe into colour coded neatness I suspect the purple section will be the largest. After black, of course.

Whowhatwear Day 22: Keep it simple with skinnies and a sweater

I really loved these ice blue skinny cords in the shop but I'm not so sure about them on. Maybe I just need to wear them with a different outfit. The picture doesn't do this sweater justice - it has a gorgeous lace panel at the back which I've tried to highlight by wearing red underneath to create contrast.

Whowhatwear Day 21: Belt your outerwear

I have one coat that I always belt as all the buttons have come off, but I thought for this challenge I would choose a different coat to mix things up a bit. I have to be careful with waist belts because of my proportions but I really like this look. I've gone full on grey again, so the metallic details of the belt really stand out.
